I had the TV tuned to C-Span this morning, its was 7:06 am on the Pacific coast and CPAC was already well under way. The speaker, a man in the legal profession probably in his late 40's early 50"s, was talking about the next President and the likelihood that they will appoint 2 US Supreme Court Justices to the bench. He said think about that, think about the recent court decisions, 5-4, 5-4, 5-4, on all those social issues of important. We are organized and we must prevail if we are to shape our countries destiny he told his audience to great applause. The next court will be in place for MY LIFETIME, this election is important he reminds them.
Are the Progressives and Democrats and Liberals as focused, as intent in shaping the future as the Conservatives? From what I'm reading they are a little lax and thinking it's a sure bet Obama gets re-elected. The Republicans don't have a viable candidate they opine, yet the likes of Rick Santorum wins primaries in 3 states. I worry this complacency will be their downfall and this election is too important to let it slide.
Any suggestions for getting the Progessive Liberals, the left leaning Independents and the Moderates fired-up about the threat for a social conservative take over of the Government and the Courts?
